Position Overview:
As a Direct Support Staff member, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of our residents by providing hands-on support, guidance, and companionship. You will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities to help them achieve their goals, participate in community activities, and live life to the fullest.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement individualized care plans designed to meet the unique needs and preferences of each resident.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where residents feel valued, respected, and empowered.
- Facilitate community outings, social activities, and recreational events to promote engagement and socialization.
- Document resident progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, and family members, to ensure holistic care and support.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred).
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for community outings)
